Where does your creativity come from?

Surface by Microsoft

Awesome! My day conveniently worked out so that I don’t have work during a live tech event. Today happened to be the reveal of the Surface tablet by Microsoft. Below are my favourite features:
  • Windows 8: This tablet will be running the Windows 8 operating system, which I think is lovely. I’ve always thought Windows 7 tablets were too cluttered, and that Windows 8 was something stupid to have on a PC.
  • Made by Microsoft: So I’m very glad that Microsoft finally came up with their own Windows 8 tablet. Even though Samsung, Motorola, and all those other manufacturers can release one whenever they want, I like the idea that this one was created for and by Microsoft.
  • Kickstand: Love that they included this! It’s bugged me so much that I had to buy a special case for my Kindle Fire for when I needed it to stand. It would’ve bothered me twice as much if I’d bought a more pricey tablet, like an iPad. Stands are something that should be required when designing a tablet for ergonomic purposes. Like, seriously. Who uses tablets facing flat on a table?
  • Keyboard/Cover: I’ve never actually been in the market for an external keyboard in a tablet because I use them mostly for media consumption (Netflix, reading, etc.), but what sold me about this one is that it is already included with the tablet and it doubles as a cover.
Mostly, I’m glad that this tablet makes it so I don’t have to go out of my way to buy a cover, stand, or keyboard. Windows 8 looks lovely on it, and I can’t wait to play with it. However, I’m still left with a few questions.
  • How much does it cost?
  • When can I buy it?
  • Will there be some awesome Xbox integration?
  • What the hell is a Hufflepuff?

Because we all need a blog post documenting our wand selection and house sorting.

I went into Pottermore fully expecting to be chosen by a holly dragon heartstring wand, and to be sorted into Slytherin. I was totally ready to wrock the green, as I did back in the early Potter days. I kid you not, my MSN name used to be something like .:~*The Death Eater*~:.. God, I loved those squiggly line things back then.

As it turns out, the wand that chose me was rigid, 12 3/4inch, pine, with a -- get this -- phoenix feather core! Though, I admit, I was expecting better than pine, the phoenix feather core outweighs everything. Not only that. After a long trip on Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, I arrived at Hogwarts to be sorted in to Gryffindor!

To be honest, Gryffindor was the last house I was expecting to be sorted. I was about 60/40 with Slytherin and Hufflepuff and would also not have been surprised to be Ravenclaw. But now that I think about it, Gryffindor is perfect. I'm bold as fuck. And I feel like I've been part of it this whole time. Sticking with Harry all these years, I can't help but feel comfortable in Gryffindor. I feel like I could walk past the Fat Lady into the Gryffindor Common Room, and know exactly where I'd sit and cozily read my copy of A History of Magic.

I'm Gryffindor with a phoenix feather wand.

And I'll stick with Harry until the very end.

I was sick. And a little delirious.

Hi. Sick here.

Blogging while sick. Let's see how this goes. Sjcvoiswhuaewvhwdkvnsudjvbwhiuevhwir. Glad I got that over with. Mostly I just wanted to say hello. I'm still alive. Still working and going to school. Remember that time Josh and I tried to make CircuitBuzz happen? We stopped making videos after a while, but we're hoping to start back up again. This time, without keeping the channel a secret. I hope it at least does as well as WTVlog did, but aiming for higher.

Gonna stop typing now. I'm getting dizzy. Woahhhh.

Mac 'n' Cheese

I don't have any photos or video, but I cooked again!  Baked Macaroni and cheese this time. I hadn't planned on making it, until I was at the market and came across canned melted cheddar with the recipe  for Mac 'n' Cheese on the back of the can. I pretty much followed the recipe, but added a few ingredients of my own. It wasn't the most delicious meal, but it got the job done. And since there are no photos or clips, I'll let you know how I made it! In recipe form!

Note: I excluded the measures/portions because I don't believe in that shit. Use whatever amount you want of these ingredients, depending on your taste.

Ingredients:
  • Corkscrew pasta
  • Campbell's Cheddar Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Ricotta Cheese
  • Melted Butter
  • Mushrooms
  • Chopped Spinach
  • Pepper
  • Bread Crumbs

Instructions or whatever:
  • Mix everything except the bread crumbs and melted butter in a bowl (Specifically, one that you can bake stuff in)
  • Mix melted butter and bread crumbs, and then add them to the top of the pasta/mix
  • Cover the bowl with foil, and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for however long you see fit (mine took about 25 mins)
  • Eat! (After safely taking it out of the oven and letting is sit for a bit, of course)
